PMWeather: Enhanced Tornado Mechanics and Block Interaction
The PMWeather mod introduces a ‘Realistic Wind Damage’ option that increases tornado destructive power by approximately 1.3 times. When this setting is active, tornadoes can stack or flow over one another, a behavior impossible in standard mode. This enhanced damage mode also weakens blocks relative to their base durability, requiring players to configure a strength multiplier between 0.8 and 1.5 times to maintain structural integrity. With the maximum multiplier of 1.5, iron blocks can withstand wind speeds up to 291 mph. The option allows tornadoes to reach destruction speeds of up to 400 mph when combined with the ‘Supercell Merging’ feature.
Modified tornado damage for PMWeather
This mod adjusts how wind erosion interacts with the game world in Java Edition. By default, tornadoes scan downward from a roof to destroy blocks within a radius of 20 blocks. Players can extend this scanning distance up to 100 blocks to simultaneously dismantle building foundations and roofs. The option to disable land capture prevents players from being caught or specific types of terrain from being affected by the wind.
PMWeather: Tornado Mechanics and Performance Updates
The supercell merging mechanic in PMWeather can now bypass protective tornado shields. To mitigate this interaction, players are advised to reduce the merging distance setting to under 200 blocks. Following version 0.0.18, the option for approximate wind matching has been removed from the configuration options. The mod remains permitted for use in free modpacks, though distributing modified .jar files is strictly prohibited.
PMWeather Tornado Damage Modification Requirements
Players can edit tornado damage values only when the PMWeather mod is active and the optional PMW Extra add-on is not installed. This dependency ensures that the core modification functionality remains available without conflicts from extended weather features.
PMWeather: Tornado Damage and Weather Mechanics Updates
The PMWeather mod now includes a new block called the Tornado Divertor, designed to protect structures from tornado damage. Players can configure how blocks are destroyed based on real-world wind data for versions prior to 0.0.18, with destructibility strength adjustable between 0.8 and 1.5 times the base value. Additionally, an option has been added to enable block capture by tornadoes under awnings and roofs, allowing a scan depth limit to be set for identifying protected blocks beneath cover.
PMWeather: Tornado Damage and Capture Mechanics Updated
Flying blocks now inflict damage on players upon impact. The tornado can capture players even when they are standing on stone or dirt blocks, allowing for new interaction dynamics in extreme weather events. Starting from version 0.0.18, the maximum natural wind speed of a tornado has been capped at 321 miles per hour. Additionally, an option has been added to disable the capture of living entities by the tornado.
