Spider Overhaul introduces two distinct spider model styles: Vanilla and Alternative. The Alternative style allows spiders to climb walls, adding new vertical movement capabilities to the mob. This mod is compatible with Nyf’s Spiders, enhancing their artificial intelligence behavior. Additionally, it works with Dragon Spider Queen to make spiders friendly toward players.

Spider Overhaul: New Creatures and Behaviors

Spider Overhaul introduces eleven new spider variants to Minecraft’s Java Edition, expanding the game’s creature roster with distinct behaviors and environmental interactions. Seven of these creatures are fully implemented for survival mode, while four remain in development. The Birch Spider nests inside fallen birch logs, requiring players to inspect decaying wood structures to locate them. The Jungle Spider is notably agile and poisonous, dropping spider dust upon death, whereas the Desert Spider releases sharps that can be thrown when it dies, a feature currently under development.

Spider Overhaul: Enhanced Spider Mechanics and Effects

Spider Overhaul introduces significant changes to spider behavior and item usage in the game. Players can now collect pollen from Jungle Spiders into bottles, which serves as a specific ingredient to convert regular bamboo into Giant Bamboo. Similarly, Ice Spiders drop ice chunks that function as materials for crafting snowballs, adding new utility to these creatures.

The mod also implements several temporary status effects that alter player movement and interaction with the environment. The Bogged effect disables swimming capabilities, forcing players to sink in water, while the Icy effect creates slippery surfaces on all blocks, affecting footing regardless of terrain type. Additionally, the mod provides a built-in configuration system that allows users to adjust spider statistics directly.
