BuildCraft: Industrial Automation and Construction

BuildCraft introduces a comprehensive suite of industrial tools for resource extraction, construction, and energy management. The Core module provides essential crafting components including keys, gears, and wooden engines, while the Factory module adds pumps, tanks, mining shafts, and automated furnaces. Energy systems cover oil, fuel sources, and specialized engines such as steam and combustion types. Builders offers architectural support through architect tables, builders, and world-filling blocks, and Transport manages an extensive pipe network for moving materials.

BuildCraft: Silicon, Compat and Public Domain

The Silicon module introduces logic gates, a laser system, and laser tables. Laser tables enable material processing with high precision, while logic elements allow the creation of complex automated control systems. The Compat module improves interaction between BuildCraft and other modifications by resolving conflicts and opening new possibilities for integration into existing projects. Versions of BuildCraft from 1.4.1 to 1.5_01.3 are in the public domain (retro-licensed by SpaceToad in 2016).

BuildCraft: Dependency Requirements

To operate correctly, the BuildCraft mod requires the Lib module. This dependency is triggered only when another installed mod utilizes Lib, provided the player does not have either the Core or All mods active.

BuildCraft Core Library Separation

The BuildCraft project has introduced a dedicated module named Lib to isolate shared code from the main game integration. This library contains only the utility functions and logic reused across different parts of the mod, allowing for cleaner organization and easier maintenance of the core mechanics.
